Finance and Money - Day Trading

" How I turned 100$ into 5000$ in a day with this ground breaking strategy " or " Do this to get rich in 20 days trading X with my super sniper, triple zone analysis, hamster diving strategy - works every single time! " And I could go on and on with similar sh*t that will flood your  news feed / social platforms once you begin to educate yourself in terms of investments and finance.  The reason why there are so many scams, that get advertised with messages similar to the ones I showed above, is because people find the idea  of getting rich fast  almost irresistable.  Well, say hello to DAY TRAIDING! Think about it  ... if you could get a daily a 2% on your money, hell ... that would be at least 60% per month. Also, this doesn't seem that hard to do right? I mean, we're talking +2% per day, for f*cks sake. Markets go up and down everyday and if you look closely, with all the available tools at our disposal, you'll find your chance, right? WRONG! There...

Working out - My training program - part 3

Since this post is covering the current "Legs" workout from my "Push-Pull-Legs" split, I'll start by reminding you that I am still recovering from a broken meniscus that required surgery. You can read more about it  here . Also, as per the doctor's orders, I must avoid sudden twisting and turning of the injured leg. Thus, I don't recommend this workout to any fellow gym rats that want to really push the envelope, so to speak, when it comes to working on their legs.  However, even if the workout is not 100% legs orientated, I find it quite satisfying since I get to work on some other muscle groups that we generally don't train that much. So, with that out of the way, let's start from the begining 😀 The first exercise is an exercise I always did at the begining of my physical therapy sessions. You get a yoga mat, or an equivalent, you lay down on your back, place a rubber or foam exercise roller under your legs, just above the knee (or, in other ...

Sh*t I went through - part 2 - Broken meniscus

This is going to be quite a long post; grab a cup of tea or coffee, maybe grab some popcorn too, and let's start 😀. It's the evening of the 25-th of December, 2023. Probably around 6:30 PM. I was on the floor, playing with my kid. When he ran to another room I wanted to follow him; I placed my left foot on the ground, pushed into the floor ... and, SNAP. Literraly, I heard the snap in my knee. The pain was bad. Really bad. I almost blacked out, but I guess I remained conscious because my leg was locked in a 90 degree angle at the knee - I guess, subconsciously, I figured that it's a bad time to fall down like a sack of potatoes. Instead, I cursed and screamed for a good 2 to 3 minutes; in the mean time my wife brought me a chair so I could sit down.  Some of you might be saying " Dude, how the f*ck can you break your meniscus, at 35, just by sitting up?! That's BS! " That's a fair question/point. 6 months before this accident, I slammed by knee in the cor...

Working out - Small injuries

Unfortunately, when working out, no matter how careful you are or how good your technique is, sometimes, small injuries do occur. Maybe you didn't warm up properly, maybe you overtrained a particular muscle, maybe it was really cold outside and there was a window in the gym that was slightly open, causing your muscles or tendons to stiffen up, or maybe you just have no clue how the hell the injury happened. The point is - ouch - now something hurts. What do you do? Well, if you suddenly feel pain after a rep or set, I suggest you quit training that muscle group, or even the entire workout if said muscle group is at the core of your training in that day (e.g. the pecs on a Push day). Same thing if it's your back - usually the lower back; stop your training immediately! Now what? Well, my advice would be to rest for a couple of days, if possible, get some anti-inflammatory medication, and see if the pain goes away. If it does not, the best thing to do is to go see a doctor....

Working out - Beginner mistakes

Nobody wants to make a fool of themselves; it's pretty much a given for most of us. We do our best not to look like idiots or embarrass ourselves in front of others. When it comes to weight lifting, these thoughts, that people will laugh at us or look down on us, are at the root of a lot of beginner mistakes. What do I mean by this? Well, the first and, by far, the most common mistake is EGO lifting .  Look, I get that sometimes you want to impress someone or just to look cool by doing an impresive lift. Say you're a single guy, you are doing pull-ups and you see a lovely woman doing squats next to you. At this point, a thought may cross your mind, that if you do some weighted pull-ups, which you've never attempted before , chances are she'll notice you and you might start a conversation. Yeah ... chances are that it's not going to get you anywhere with that woman😊What is more likely is that you'll acquire a "lovely" injury - because you picked a wei...

Working out - Things that you should know!

Working out is a sport that I love. I've practiced it for more than 10 years now. I plan on doing it for as long as possible. For me, it has multiple benefits, including MENTAL HEALTH! The way I see it, working out is one of the few sports where you are competing against yourself. It's you vs you.  As Friedrich Nietzsche said, and I qoute, " But the worst enemy you can meet will always be yourself. " You vs you - one of the greatest battles in one's life; one of the greatest successes you can achieve is looking back and recognizing that who you are today is better than who you were in the past.  Unfortunately, nowadays, this way of looking at the sport has changed a lot. What do I mean by this? It's become more of a competition with some people you don't really know. Yeah, you see some post on some social network and this becomes some sort of a benchmark. Regardless of gender, the internet is full of pictures and videos of people that look a certain way or...
